Fall is finally here and it’s time to decorate! Here I have a tutorial to make this big beautiful full Fall grapevine wreath for under $20. It’s perfect to hang on your front door and anywhere you need a bold statement.

This wreath might look complicated to make, but it is quite easy and relatively quick. And while it might look like a $100 wreath, this gorgeous fall grapevine wreath was actually under $20 to make.
For this fall grapevine wreath tutorial, I chose an 18″ grapevine wreath. These are easy to work with and only cost about $5. Sometimes the little tendrils grab hold of everything and it is a bit maddening, but they’re so cute.
I used two cream dahlia mix bouquets which I purchased for $5 each at Walmart. These are gorgeous bouquets, in beautiful creams and rusty browns. You get dahlias, roses, sunflowers, feathers, berries and more, 24 stems! I only used 17 of the stems and will save the rest for another project.

For the great big bow, I used a 2 1/2″ wide wired ribbon in sagey green checks. This was $4.99 at Michael’s for a 3 yard roll and I used it all.
This wreath also has a few little pumpkins in creamy tones. I purchased a bag of 8 for $2.98 at Walmart, their Harvest Bowl Filler. Some of these are about 2″ in diameter, some only 1 1/2″.

I used wire cutters to cut each stem from the bouquet and lay them out so I could see them all.
I first laid out a possible placement of things, changing it up to see what I liked best.
Grapevines wreaths are great because you can sometimes insert a stem and it will stay right where you place it, but can easily move it elsewhere if you choose. No glue required, sometimes. In fact, I often want to disassemble my wreaths and having not used glue makes that very easy to do. You can also use small zip ties or wire to hold your stems so you don’t have to use glue. All that said, keep in mind how you are using your wreath. You might want to glue the elements to the wreath if it will be subjected to the opening and closing of a door or perhaps wind or even people handling it.

Then, when I was happy with the placement, I shortened each stem as needed and inserted the stems securely, no glue needed for mine. I did use hot glue to attach 3 pumpkins, but the stems are just wedged in the grapevine.

I finished it off with a big six loop bow, which I wired onto the wreath.
Experiment with your wreath, maybe place your stems all the way around or place your bow in a different spot, add more or different elements, etc. I encourage you to make it yours! There really aren’t any rules.
